A training workshop on Shaping Maths (primary-level series published by MC Education, Singapore) was held for 75 teachers on Monday, 21 October 2019, 10 am – 3 pm (lunch & tea were served), at the Wilderness School in Quetta. The trainer, Norhuda Musa (PhD Mathematics Education, Curtin University, Western Australia, Master’s in Education, Nanyang Technological University / National Institute of Education, Singapore) taught primary school maths in Singapore for 21 years, and secondary maths in an international school in Jakarta for two years. She has been championing the use of current maths practices in Singapore schools. She has presented her research on several occasions, at international conferences held by the World Association of Lesson Studies (WALS) and the Mathematics Education Research Group of Australasia (MERGA), and she has conducted teacher-training workshops across Asia.
